Carolina Collector Auto Fest
Beautifully customized 1954 Chevrolet pickup
After watching hours of Fast n’ Loud on TV, I was interested in seeing what regular folks were doing with old car restoration and customization. So it was that I headed over, once again, to the North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh, this time for the Carolina Collector Auto Fest (and swap-meet.) Following are some of the cars that caught my eye.
1965 Corvair convertible, just like my first ever car
1938 Ford convertible with Chevrolet engine and running gear, and even air conditioning!
1956 Ford Crown Victoria
1930 Ford streetrod, nominally a pickup although the bed is tiny
1951 Ford F-1 pickup, for sale at $21,500 obo
1967 Pontiac GTO, found rotting in a field before complete restoration
1956 Mercury Medalist Phaeton 4-door
1962 Rolls Royce, gold over blue
1946 Chevrolet coupe “project” car – $2K and it’s yours!
