I remember the big annual car show that was held downtown in the stately old Music Hall in Cincinnati, Ohio, when I was growing up. It was a huge venue and there were always what seemed like hundreds of new, shiny, big, impressive examples of Detroit iron. And there were always some way-out concept “cars of the future” to make a wide-eyed kid dizzy with dreams of one day driving something like that. Well, Detroit today ain’t what it was – no offense to Clint Eastwood. Cars ain’t what they used to be, and car shows ain’t what they used to be either. (Okay, enough ain’ts.)
